RO-Wine Spring 2025: A Festive Edition Full of Firsts, Favorites, and Flavors
This spring, RO-Wine – The International Wine Festival of Romania – celebrated its anniversary year with a standout edition that delighted wine lovers and industry professionals alike. Held shortly after the Cluj edition in March, the Bucharest event transformed Fratelli Studios into a hub of exceptional wines, gourmet experiences, and engaging encounters. And with the fall edition already in the works for October, the festival is showing no signs of slowing down.
Three Halls, Endless Tastes
The festival returned to its signature layout of three curated tasting halls. Hall A hosted Romanian and Moldovan wineries, Hall B featured the renowned “Taste of Italy” salon by ICE – Italian Trade Agency and Hall C welcomed top-tier international wines presented by importers. Attendees were treated to a global tasting experience—still wines from countries like France, Spain, Germany, Argentina, and South Africa, and sparkling delights such as Prosecco, Champagne, and Cava. Not to mention local specialties like Maramureș horincă, vinars, artisanal gin, limoncello, and specialty coffee.

The Italian Touch: Fine Wines and Flavorful Discoveries

The “Gustul Italiei” salon, organized by ICE – Italian Trade Agency, charmed visitors with a remarkable selection of wines and artisanal Italian products. Over 20 producers from regions like Tuscany, Sicily, Piedmont, and Veneto offered a curated slice of Italy that captivated the senses.
Guided Tours and the First-Ever Public Vote
For the first time, visitors could also purchase guided tours led by professional sommeliers—a new layer of depth and discovery. Another debut? The “People’s Choice” awards. Guests voted for their favorite producers, with winners crowned in each category:
- Romania & Moldova: Crama DeMatei – Vintruvian Estates
- Taste of Italy: Colle Moro
- International Wines: Pellegrino
Each received special recognition and awards courtesy of Rubin Glass Factory, the exclusive glassware partner of the event. With more than six decades of experience and a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, Rubin added a refined touch to the celebration.

A Festival That’s Becoming Ever More Gourmet
RO-Wine has always paired wine with culinary excellence – and 2025 took that commitment to a new level.
From fine cheeses and pasta to olive oil tastings and Sicilian specialties, every bite elevated the wine experience. Live cooking shows and signature gourmet sessions kept the atmosphere buzzing with flavor.
Longtime gourmet partner Macromex Horeca made a memorable impression once again, offering delights from brands like Edenia and Food&Glory, and beloved global names like Philadelphia and La Lorraine.

Masterclasses, Exclusive Launches, and What’s Next
A highlight of the festival was the launch of the first edition of Nicolae & Alina ai României wine—an elegant moment that honored Romania’s winemaking legacy and future. Meanwhile, various producers gave guests an exclusive preview of their 2024 vintages, particularly the fresh and promising white wines.
The educational side of RO-Wine remained strong, with a robust program of masterclasses and guided tastings. Among the most praised was Viaggio in Italia: Paese di Grandi Formaggi – a masterful cheese tasting experience hosted by ONAF experts Marco Benedetti and Giorgio Telmon, in collaboration with wine ambassador Marinela Ardelean.

Next Stop: Autumn Edition
As the festival continues to celebrate its milestone year, preparations are already underway for the grand autumn edition, set to take place at Fratelli Studios from October 10–12.
Until then – cheers to wine, culture, and community.
